Abstract Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common peripheral nerve compression syndrome. The accuracy of wrist ultrasound has been confirmed, and the accuracy of the diagnosis of CTS is improved through the measurement of the transverse carpal ligament, the flattening rate, the median cross-sectional area of the median nerve, and the blood flow status of the median nerve. Ultrasound examination is more convenient and quicker than other examinations. It is not only possible to use ultrasound to observe changes in carotid anatomy before surgery, so that doctors can pre-judgment and post-operative review, and ultrasound real-time guidance also makes CTS safer and faster. This article discusses the related research progress from the aspects of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of CTS.
