Abstract Cognitive impairment is common in the elderly, which has many influencing factors. Among these factors, sedentary behavior is gradually becoming a research hotspot in recent years. This article reviews the overview of sedentary behavior and cognitive impairment, the relationship between sedentary behavior and cognitive impairment, the possible mechanism, and the inspiration for clinical medical work, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and delay of cognitive impairment in the elderly.
