Dissolution determination of Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules |

Abstract Objective To establish a method for determination of Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules and to evaluate the practical application of the method. Methods Under heating conditions, the Iron Polysaccharide Complex solution was digested by hydrochloric acid. The free Fe3+ in the solution was reduced to Fe2+ by hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and Fe2+ reacts with 1,10-phenanthroline to form a chemically stable red complex. Based on this principle, the iron content was indirectly determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and the dissolution of Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules was evaluated. Results The specificity, reproducibility, and stability of the method in this research were good. At the same time, the Fe2+ concentration has a good linear relationship in the range of 0.1-2.0 μg/ml (r2 = 0.999 9), and the average recovery rate was 99.3% (RSD = 1.03%). The results of actual sample measurement showed that the results of this study are basically consistent with those of the methods in the literature. Conclusion The method is simple, convenient, and suitable for determining the dissolution of Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules.
