Effect of intratracheal radiotherapy in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the efficacy and adverse events of intratracheal radiotherapy combined with external irradiation in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Methods A total of 60 patients with stage Ⅲa to Ⅳ non-small cell lung cancer treated in Nanjing Chest Hospital from July 2016 to December 2019 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into experimental group and control group. A total of 29 patients in the experimental group were treated with endotracheal radiotherapy + external irradiation (endotracheal radiotherapy DT 10 Gy / 2 f + external irradiation DT 55-56 Gy), and 31 patients in the control group were treated with conventional external chest irradiation intensity modulated radiotherapy DT 60 Gy/30 f. After treatment, the short-term efficacy, 1-year local control rate and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in objective remission rate between the two groups at one month after radiotherapy (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). The 1-year survival rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group after 12 months follow-up (P < 0.05). Conclusion For patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer,endotracheal radiotherapy combined with external irradiation can stabilize the short-term efficacy while reducing the dose of external chest irradiation, help to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions such as radiation pneumonia and radiation esophagitis, and the 1-year survival rate is high.
