Abstract In recent years, the incidence rate of stroke has been increasing. After treatment, patients often have various sequelae, which has brought heavy burden to families and society. As an effective strategy for rehabilitation after stroke, acupuncture and massage is widely used in clinical practice, it refers to the organic combination of the advantages of acupoint cluster acupuncture in the treatment of brain-derived diseases and modern rehabilitation methods. This paper introduces the definition, guiding ideology, and clinical application of acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy, and summarizes its rehabilitation mechanism in the treatment of stroke, mainly including promoting vascular regeneration, inhibiting cell apoptosis, controlling inflammatory response, remodeling neurovascular unit, regulating intestinal flora and other mechanisms, so as to provide theoretical basis and ideas for clinical rehabilitation after stroke.
