Exploration of “Med-lab escape” in the cultivation of practical ability of basic medical research |

Abstract The cultivation of basic research practical ability in medical teaching is of great significance, and the teaching method is the key to the effective cultivation. Serious game is a new type of teaching method, widely used and effective. Based on the practice of basic medical research, this paper designed a serious game——“Med-lab escape” based on the common laboratory pattern. Through the story line, the learners make a breakthrough “escape”, and complete the cultivation of the practical ability of five kinds of classical basic medical research under the feedback of rewards and punishments. “Med-lab escape” has a good effect in the internal preliminary test, but there are still some shortcomings. It needs to be further optimized in the aspects of scheme design, hardware equipment, operation details, evaluation, and management.
