Abstract The mechanism of massage treatment in lumbar disc herniation can be explained from three aspects. First of all, massage has a direct improving effect on the lumbar bony structure and its dynamic relationship by adjusting the tension of muscles and soft tissues, restoring spino-balance of three dimension, reducing nerve stimulation symptoms. Secondly, in fascia theory, massage can improve autonomic nerve over reaction by relieving abnormal electrophysiology nervous impulse and increasing the microcirculation perfusion. Finally, massage can promote the spontaneous absorption of lumbar disc herniation and regulate inflammation and immune factors.
