Abstract  Objective To explore the effect of family cooperative care mode on compliance behavior and length of stay in hospital of children with asthma. Methods A total of 106 children with asthma treated in the Department of Pediatrics of the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from July 2020 to June 2021 were selected, they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 53 cases in each group. The control group adopted the conventional nursing model, and the observation group incorporated the concept of family cooperative care on this basis. The rehabilitation effect, compliance behavior, pulmonary function indexes including vital capacity (VC), forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volumeat in one second (FEV1) and peak expiratory flow (PEF) were compared between the two groups after two weeks of intervention. Results The time required for cough disappearance, antipyretic, antiasthmatic, hospitalization, asthma attacks and emergency cases in observation group were less than those in control group (P < 0.05). The observation group in prevention of inducing factors, adherence to correct medication, timely review and follow-up visits, and compliance with good habits were higher than the control group (P < 0.05). After two weeks of intervention, the levels of VC, FVC, FEV1, and PEF in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the observation group was higher than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of family cooperation care mode can accelerate the rehabilitation of children with asthma, improve their compliance behavior, and promote the improvement of lung function.
