Abstract  Objective To investigate the status quo of knowledge level of blood pressure medication use in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), to analyze its influencing factors, and in the hope of providing a basis for future interventions. Methods A total of 311 patients with CKD who were hospitalized in the Department of Nephrology in a tertiary hospital in Guangzhou from February to May 2021 were selected as the research subjects. The general information questionnaire, medication knowledge scale, rational drug use self-efficacy scale, and perception family support scale were used to investigate. Results The score of drug knowledge in this survey was (20.9±6.2) points. There were significant differences in the scores of medication knowledge among CKD patients with different age, education level, occupational status, per capita monthly income of the family, received antihypertensive drug-related knowledge health education, and read the drug instructions (P < 0.05). Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that medication knowledge in CKD patients was positively correlated with rational medication self-efficacy (r = 0.470) and family support (r = 0.349) (P < 0.05). The results of regression analysis showed that five variables, including education level, received of antihypertensive drug-related knowledge and health education, rational drug use self-efficacy, understanding of family support, and read drug instructions were the influencing factors in knowledge level of patient medication equation (P < 0.05). They could jointly explain 35.0% of the total variation in medication knowledge. Conclusion Medical staff can carry out health education in a targeted manner in combination with various influencing factors of drug knowledge level, so as to improve the level of drug use knowledge.
