Abstract Objective Through the visualization analysis of the research status, hotspots, and trends of the research on the sexual health of cancer patients in the field of nursing, this paper provides reference for the research on the sexual health of cancer patients in China in the future. Methods The Web of Science core collection database was retrieved, and the literatures related to the sexual health of cancer patients in the nursing field from January 2012 to August 2021 were selected, and imported into CiteSpace software for visual analysis. Results A total of 400 articles were included, with the highest annual number of articles published in 2018 and then showing a downward trend; the institution with the largest number of publications was Chang Gung University in Taiwan; the main country in the network was the United States; the research focuses on the study population, research methods and intervention implementers; the trends were psychological distress and unmet sexual health needs. Conclusion China’s research in this field started late, so we should learn from foreign experience and actively carry out intervention research suitable for Chinese culture in the future, so as to better improve the sexual health level of cancer patients.
