Abstract Objective To retrospectively analyze the influencing factors of postoperative recurrence of colonic polyps after treatment. Methods A total of 416 patients with colonic polyps hospitalized and received endoscopic treatment in Putuo Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2014 to May 2019 were selected. The patients were divided into the recurrence group (216 cases) and the non-recurrence group (200 cases) according to the postoperative recurrence. The clinical data of the patients were retrospectively collected to analyze the influencing factors of postoperative recurrence of colonic polyps. Results The proportion of male, age ≥60 years, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, operation method of argon-plasma coagulation (APC) and APC combined with high frequency electrical polypectomy, number of polyps ≥3, diameter of polyps ≥10 mm, multiple sites, adenoma, and the levels of body mass index (BMI), uric acid (UA), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL) in the recurrence group were all higher than those in the non-recurrence group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that age ≥60 years, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hypertension, high BMI, number of polyps ≥3, diameter of polyps ≥10 mm, multiple sites, and adenoma were independent risk factors for colon polyp recurrence (OR > 1, P < 0.05). Conclusion Age ≥60 years, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hypertension, number of polyps ≥3, diameter of polyps ≥10 mm, multiple sites, adenoma, high BMI are independent influence factors of recurrence of colonic polyps, may be closely related with the recurrence of colonic polyps, for domestic clinicians guide patients with colonic polyps of follow-up work provide certain reference value.
