Bibliometric analysis on nutrition research about inflammatory bowel disease based on Web of Science |

Abstract Objective To understand the current situation and development trends of nutrition research on inflammatory bowel disease in recent ten years by bibliometric analysis. Methods The Web of Science core collection database was used as the data source to search the literatures related to inflammatory bowel disease nutrition from January 2011 to December 2020. The data analysis function of the database was used to make quantitative analysis on the annual number of documents published and the distribution of funding institutions, and CiteSpace software was used to make visual analysis on the distribution of countries, authors published and keywords. Results A total of 1 339 papers were included, of which China ranked third in the number of published papers. Most of the funding institutions are concentrated in the United States. Among which China ranked third in the number of published papers. Most funding agencies were concentrated in the United States. Russell RK was a prolific author in this field; in addition to disease types and nutrition, many keywords appeared in the literature were children, management, plant extraction and antioxidant. Conclusion Nutrition-related research on inflammatory bowel disease is in a steady development stage, with the number of publications in China leading the world, and the United States taking the dominant position in this field. Research focuses on childhood nutrition, dietary management and antioxidant phytonutrients.
