Application value of retrospective ECG-gated CTPA in pulmonary artery elasticity and cardiac function in patients with pulmonary hypertension |

Abstract Objective To investigate the application value of retrospective ECG-gated CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA) in pulmonary artery elasticity and cardiac function in pulmonary hypertension(PH) patients. Methods From March 2016 to January 2020, patients with PH diagnosed by clinical manifestations and echocardiography in the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University and who received retrospective ECG-gated CTPA were included in PH group(30 cases). At the same time, the patients without pulmonary artery disease by retrospective ECG-gated CTPA and normal pulmonary artery pressure by echocardiography were collected as control group (30 cases). Arterial dilation (AD) and cardiac function parameters were compared between two groups. Results AD value of PH group was lower than that of control group, and the difference was statistical significant (P < 0.05). The right ventricular end systolic volume, right ventricular end diastolic volume, right ventricular end diastolic volume/left ventricular end diastolic volume, and right ventricular end systolic volume/left ventricular end systolic volume of PH group were higher than those of control group, right ventricular ejection fraction was lower than that of control group, and the differences were statistical significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Retrospective ECG-gated CTPA can noninvasively assess pulmonary artery elasticity and right cardiac function in PH patients, so as to provide a forceful imaging basis for the diagnosis and treatment of PH patients.
