Abstract Blood uric acid (UA) metabolism is in dynamic balance in normal human body, and its abnormal concentration is not conducive to health. Sodium-glucose linked transporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT-2i) is a novel hypoglycemic drug that has been marketed in recent years, which can improve various symptoms of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. In addition to the hypoglycemic effect of SGLT-2i itself, this effect may be related to the improvement of blood UA metabolism in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. This article intends to explain the pathophysiological effects of blood UA and the mechanism of the effect of SGLT-2i on blood UA in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, in order to have a better understanding of SGLT-2i.
