Effect of mind mapping health education on rehabilitation training of patients after thoracoscopic pulmonary nodule resection |

Abstract Objective To explore the effects of mind mapping health education on rehabilitation self-efficacy and pulmonary function recovery of patients undergoing thoracoscopic pulmonary nodule resection. Methods A total of 95 patients with thoracoscopic pulmonary nodule resection treated in the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Huangshan People’s Hospital from March 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the study subjects, according to medical records, 48 cases were randomly divided into observation group and 47 cases were randomly divided into control group. The control group was given routine lung rehabilitation training health education, and the observation group was combined with mind mapping health education. One month after operation, the rehabilitation self-efficacy, pulmonary function and complications were compared between the two groups. Results One month after surgery, the scores of information acquisition and application, symptom self-management, rehabilitation training and skill training, coping with treatment side effects, daily life management, emotion management, and rehabilitation self-efficacy total score in the two groups were higher than those in the same group before operation, and the information acquisition and application, symptom self-management, rehabilitation training and skill training, treatment side effects, and rehabilitation self-efficacy scores of observation group were higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Vital capacity, forced expiratory volume in the first second, forced vital capacity, and maximum chase air volume in the two groups were lower than those before operation, and observation group were higher than control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The complication rate in the observation group was 6.25%, lower than 21.28% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Mind mapping health education is helpful to improve the level of rehabilitation self-efficacy of patients undergoing thoracoscopic pulmonary nodule resection, promote the recovery of postoperative pulmonary function and reduce the incidence of complications.
