| Clinical effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with needle-embedding therapy on patients with pain in lower extremities and waist |

Abstract Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture and needle-embedding therapy in the treatment of patients with pain in lower extremities and waist. Methods A total of 66 patients with lower extremities and waist pain who were hospitalized in the Department of Orthopedics, Wenzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang Province from June 2019 to May 2020 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method. The control group (33 cases) was received needle-embedding therapy intervention, the observation group (33 cases) was received wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with needle-embedding therapy, the intervention time of both groups was 20 d. Pain control, mood improvement, clinical efficacy, and adverse reactions were observed in both groups. Results After intervention, numerical rating scale, pain rating index, and present pain intensity scores of two groups were lower than those before intervention, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05). After intervention, Hamilton depression scale and Hamilton anxiety scale scores in the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05). The clinical effect of observation group was better than that of control group (P ＜ 0.05). After intervention, there was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05). Conclusion In the pain treatment of patients with pain in lower extremities and waist, wrist-ankle acupuncture and needle-embedding therapy are performed at the same time, can obtain the higher efficiency, and the security is good.
