Clinical efficacy of meridian guide flat combined with Mecobalamin in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy |

Abstract Objective To investigate the clinical effect of meridian guide flat combined with Mecobalamin in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods Eighty patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy admitted in Wangjing Hospital of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Yongledian Community Health Service Center of Tongzhou District in Beijing City from May 2016 to February 2017 were selected and they were divided into control group and treatment group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Mecobalamin simply, while the treatment group was treated with Mecobalamin combined with meridian guide flat. The two groups were treated for 8 weeks. Clinical symptoms, conduction velocity of sensory and motor nerves, blood rheology were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Motor and sensory conduction velocity of common peroneal nerve and median nerve were higher after treatment in both groups, and treatment group was significantly higher than control group (P < 0.05). Whole blood high, medium, low shear viscosity and plasma viscosity declined after treatment in both groups(P < 0.05), and those in the treatment group were significantly lower than control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Meridian guide flat combined with Mecobalamin can relieve symptoms of patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy and improve conduction velocity of sensory and motor nerves, it also can improve blood rheology and have satisfied effect.
