Abstract Wu Jutong, a warm disease epidemiologist, proposes that “treating upper jiao is like a feather”, that is for the warm disease in the disease of upper jiao disease with “light” drugs should be applied. Ears, nose, and throat on the head and neck of the human body, are clear orifices, in the upper jiao, if the medicine is not light, they can not reach the upper jiao. Clinical treatment of the disease of this part often selects the light texture of the product. At the same time, with the flavoring and channel ushering drugs to help medicine to reach the disease site, belongs to the category of “treating upper jiao is like a feather”. This article is based on “treating upper jiao is like a feather” of the common diseases in otorhinolaryngology, in particular, the specific application in the initial treatment of diseases is discussed, in order to guide clinical treatment better.
