Application effect of early oral exercise training combined with neonatal touch in nursing of late preterm infants#br# |

Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of early oral exercise training combined with neonatal touch in the nursing of late preterm infants. Methods A total of 204 late preterm infants admitted to Xijing Hospital from February 2020 to February 2021 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 102 cases in each group. On the basis of routine nursing, the control group received neonatal stroking intervention, while the observation group received early oral exercise training combined with neonatal stroking intervention. Both groups were intervened until late preterm infants could be fed completely by mouth. The feeding situation and body weight changes of the two groups were compared; the intelligence development scores before and at the end of the intervention were compared between the two groups (assessed by the mental development index [MDI] and the psychomotor development index [PDI]). Results The time of oral feeding and complete oral feeding in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, while the feeding process was earlier than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The body weight at the beginning of oral feeding and complete oral feeding, while the body weight at 37 weeks corrected gestational age in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). At the end of the intervention, the MDI and PDI scores of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention, while the MDI and PDI scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Early oral exercise training combined with neonatal touch can improve the feeding situation of late preterm infants, increase the weight of late preterm infants, and promote the intellectual development of late preterm infants.
