Application of echoendoscope combined with laparoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal submucosal tumors#br# |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the clinical value of ultrasonoscopy combined with laparoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal submucosal tumor (SMT). Methods A total of 80 patients with SMT admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from January 2018 to December 2020 were enrolled. All patients underwent echoendoscope before surgery and they were divided into study group (echoendoscope-assisted laparoscopy) and control group (laparoscopy alone) according to random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The consistency between echoendoscope and pathological examination was compared with pathological examination as the gold standard. The differences of gastrointestinal hormone indexes between the two groups were compared before and three days after surgery. Results The results of echoendoscope were almost identical with those of pathological diagnosis in 80 patients (P < 0.05). Three days after surgery, the level of gastrin (GAS) was lower than that before treatment, and the level of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) was higher than that before treatment, and the level of GAS in the study group was higher than that in the control group, while the level of VIP was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Echoendoscope has a clear diagnostic effect. Intraoperative combined application with laparoscopy can make tumor levels and peripheral blood vessels clear, improve gastrointestinal hormone secretion, and has significant clinical application value.
