Abstract Objective To investigate the qualitative study of the real experience of returning to work in young and middle-aged stroke patients by meta integration. Methods Web of Science, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, CINHAL, Medline, PubMed, Embase, EBSCO, CNKI, SinoMed, Wanfang Data, VIP included qualitative studies on the return to work experience of young and middle-aged stroke patients. The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to June 2021. The results were integrated using the quality evaluation criteria of Australian JBI evidence-based health care center and meta-integration method. Results A total of 15 literatures were included, and 60 research results were extracted, which were summarized into nine categoriesg and integrated into five integrated results. Strong willingness to return to work; complex emotional experience of returning to work; returning to work was affected by various factors; return to work, eager for help in many aspects; in the face of difficulties, actively seek change. Conclusion Young and middle-aged stroke patients face many challenges in the process of returning to work. To understand their feelings, experiences and needs in the process of returning to work can provide reference for the development of effective vocational rehabilitation programs.
