Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of reduced glutathione in the treatment of patients with sepsis acute kidney injury. Methods From June 2018 to June 2020, 72 patients with sepsis acute kidney injury treated in the intensive care unit of the Department of Emergency in Seventh People’s Hospital of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected. They were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment, and the observation group was treated with reduced glutathione injection on the basis of the control group. The changes of markers of kidney injury, malondialdehyde (MDA), and total antioxidant capacity (TAOC) in both groups were observed. Results After treatment, serum creatinine (Scr), Cystatin C (Cys-C), and serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (sNGAL) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, Cys-C and sNGAL in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, MDA in both groups was lower than that before treatment, and TAOC was higher than that before treatment, and MDA in observation group was lower than that in control group, and TAOC in observation group was higher than that in control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Reduced glutathione can improve the antioxidant capacity of the body, and promote the recovery of patients with sepsis acute kidney injury.
