Abstract Objective To discuss the hotspots and trends of trigeminal neuralgia nursing research in our country, and provide a basis for trigeminal neuralgia nursing research. Methods The words of “trigeminal neuralgia”“nursing” were searched in CNKI, Wanfang and VIP from January 1996 to December 2020. CiteSpace 5.7R1 was used for literature visualization, and co-occurrence network analysis was carried out on the authors, institutions and keywords of the literatures. Results A total of 637 literatures were included, and the amount of publications showed an overall upward trend. The author with the largest number of publications was Chang Qing, and the cooperation between the authors is not close. Five institutions were the main research units for trigeminal neuralgia care, with little cooperation among them. The research focused on perioperative nursing and complications nursing of microvascular decompression and radiofrequency thermocoagulation. The research trend was psychological state and comprehensive nursing. Conclusion There are few researches on trigeminal neuralgia nursing in China, the quality of papers is not high, and the cooperation between institutions and authors is less. We should increase investment in scientific research in this field, increase exchanges and cooperation between institutions, and make further contributions to the research field of trigeminal neuralgia nursing in China.
