Abstract Autoimmune disease is a disease with high morbidity and fatality rate, since its morbidity is on the rise globally, its early diagnosis is particularly important. Deoxyribonucinase 1 analogue 3 (DNASE1L3) is an endonuclionase that degrades the chromatin of apoptotic or necrotic cells. Its deletion or accumulation leads to disorder in the clearance of apoptotic cells in vivo, triggering autoimmune reactions and causing autoimmune diseases. Especially, its expression level and mechanism in systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis, dermatomyositis and polymyositis, and other autoimmune diseases have attracted much attention. In addition, the expression of DNASE1L3 is also different in malignant tumors and respiratory diseases. This means that it has a good clinical guiding significance for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of these diseases. This article reviews the application and research progress of DNASE1L3 in autoimmune diseases and other diseases in recent years.
