| Application effect of health education in perioperative nursing of patients with chronic sinusitis#br# |

Abstract Objective To explore the application of health education in perioperative nursing of patients with chronic sinusitis operation and its influence on patients’ quality of life (QOL) scores. Methods A total of 158 patients with chronic sinusitis that had functional nasal endoscopic surgery treatment treated in Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, Changzhi People’s Hospital from November 2019 to October 2020, they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 79 cases in each group. The control group used conventional nursing methods, observation group on the basis of the control group used health education. The health knowledge mastery, QOL score, implementation of health behaviors and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups after intervention. Results After the intervention, the postoperative precautions, nose blowing and diet of the control group were better than those before the intervention, and the difference were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). The observation group had better knowledge of sinusitis after intervention than before the imtervention and higher than the control group, and the difference was highly statistically significant (P ＜ 0.01); after the intervention, QOL score of observation group was higher than control group, the difference was highly statistically significant (P ＜ 0.01); the compliance rate of sinusitis related behaviors and nursing satisfaction of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were highly statistically significant (P ＜ 0.01). Conclusion In perioperative nursing of patients with chronic sinusitis, health education can improve patients’ health knowledge and compliance, improve patients’ quality of life, and improve patients’ satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
