Application of rain classroom in laboratory animal surgery teaching#br# |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of rain classroom in laboratory animal surgery teaching. Methods A total of 90 five-year clinical medicine students (Grade 2016) from Air Force Military Medical University were selected as the research subjects and divided into experimental group (45 students) and control group (45 students) according to random number table method. In the laboratory animal surgery teaching from March to June 2020, rain classroom was used for the experimental group, while traditional mode was used for the control group. After the completion of teaching, the two groups were assessed for their performance and questionnaire survey of teaching satisfaction. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups in theoretical knowledge scores (P > 0.05). The practical operation score and total score of experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The recovery rate of teaching satisfaction questionnaire was 100% and the effective rate was 100%. The satisfaction rating scores of “conducive to theoretical teaching”, “conducive to practical teaching”, “conducive to autonomous learning”, “easy to grasp the key and difficult points”, “operation teaching”, and “review test” in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in satisfaction score of “class discussion” between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Rain classroom has shown good classroom effect in the surgery teaching of experimental animals and has good promotion potential.
