Abstract Traditional Chinese medicine is regarded as a “bridge” to build a community with a shared future for mankind through international exchanges. In recent years, Chinese medicine colleges and universities have successively established international cooperation projects represented by overseas centers of traditional Chinese medicine and Confucius Institutes of Chinese medicine in various countries, which give full play to its remarkable advantages in teaching and scientific research, talents, and culture platform, in order to promote the international development of traditional Chinese medicine. However, there are still some shortcomings in the international cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities, it is necessary to strengthen the understanding of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and deepen the effectiveness of international exchanges and cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine. Combined with the current situation of the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine, this paper elaborates on the optimization of strategic layout, construction of innovation system, dissemination of excellent culture, promotion of talent training, improvement of management services and other aspects, and discusses the countermeasures of international cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities, so as to contribute to the buliding of a community with a shared future for human health.
