Abstract  Objective To investigate the effect of whole-process respiratory care management program in endoscopic sinus surgery for patients with chronic sinusitis complicated with asthma. Methods A total of 116 patients with chronic sinusitis complicated with asthma who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University from January to December 2018 were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method. According to random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 58 cases in each group. The control group received routine endoscopic sinus perioperative nursing, and the observation group received whole-process respiratory management program nursing, the incidence of perioperative asthma and the score of perceived control of asthma were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the incidence of postoperative asthma in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total scores of perceived control of asthma in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the total score of perceived control of asthma in observation group was higher than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The scores of locus of control, self-efficacy, and learned helplessness in the two groups were higher than those before intervention, and the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of whole-process respiratory management program can effectively reduce the incidence of asthma in patients with chronic sinusitis complicated with asthma after endoscopic sinus surgery, and improve the perception control of patients with asthma, which is worthy of clinical application.
