Abstract In today’s aging society, the incidence rate of orthopedic diseases related to the elderly is increasing, which seriously threatens human health. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) belongs to non-coding RNA, which plays an important role in the occurrence and development of many diseases. Plasmacytoma variant translocation gene 1 (PVT1) is one of the lncRNAs, which plays an important role in orthopedic diseases. It is expected to become a therapeutic target for osteopathic diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and asteosarcoma, as well as a biomarker for diagnosis, prognosis, and drug resistance. This article reviews the research progress of PVT1 in orthopedic diseases at home and abroad, so as to provide theoretical basis for basic research and clinical practice of orthopedics.
