Abstract Objective To explore the application and effect of new teaching mode of human anatomy teaching of medical imaging technology specialty. Methods From March 2020 to February 2021, 160 vocational college students of medical imaging technology specialty of grade 2019 and grade 2020 in Beijing Health Vocational College were selected as the research objects. One class from each grade was selected, with a total of 80 students as the control group, and the remaining 80 students were in the experimental group. The control group adopted the traditional teaching method, and the experimental group adopted the new teaching method. The test scores of the two groups were compared; questionnaire survey was used to analyze the students’ professional cognition, learning participation, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction. Results The theoretical, experimental and total scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the new teaching mode can improve students’ professional recognition, learning participation, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction. Conclusion The new teaching mode arouses students’ learning initiative and improves students’ academic performance.
