Values of transvaginal ultrasound in the diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastasis |

Abstract Objective To investigate the values of transvaginal ultrasound in the diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastasis. Methods The clinical data of 56 cases of cervical cancer diagnosed and treated in Tangshan People′s Hospital of Hebei Province from January 2014 to April 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The results of operation and pathology were regarded as the gold standard. The conventional ultrasonic characteristics and the ultrasonic blood flow typing were recorded, and were to determine the effect of ultrasonic diagnosis. Results In the 56 patients, there were 38 patients were confirmed intra iliac lymph node metastasis by ultrasound, and the positive rate was 67.9%. In the patients with positive iliac lymph node metastasis (n = 38), the lesions were more with mostly round, necrosis in the center and multiple invasion with extra capsular involvement, and the size of the lesions was significantly higher than that of patients with negative iliac lymph node metastasis (n = 18) (P < 0.05). The color Doppler flow typeⅠ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and IV in the patients with positive iliac lymph node metastasis were 30 cases, 6 cases, 2 cases and 0 cases, and were 0 cases, 2 cases, 6 cases, 10 cases in the patient with negative iliac lymph node metastasis, with statistical significance the difference (P < 0.05). There were 36 cases of positive lymph node metastasis and 20 cases of negative by the pathological analysis, so the sensitivity and specificity of transvaginal ultrasonography in the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis of cervical cancer were 97.2% and 85.0%, respectively. Conclusion Iliac lymph node metastasis in cervical cancer is common, the application of transvaginal ultrasound and color Doppler ultrasound can effectively display the intra iliac lymph node metastasis and blood flow, improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis, and it has good application value.
