Abstract Objective To explore the medication regularities of Chinese medicine in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis by data mining techniques. Methods The related clinical literatures about Chinese medicine in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis were revealed from CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, PubMed, Embase and Medline, the data was analyzed statistically. Results Among the collected prescriptions, herbs types were used, the commonly used herbs, medicine pair, medicine groups, new formula and clustering situations were excavated by further analysis. Conclusion This paper finds new medication rules of Chinese medicine in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis, which provides guidance for the use of traditional Chinese medicine of lumbar spinal stenosis.
