Abstract Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is a concept that optimizes perioperative management, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative ERAS. This article will focus on the application of ERAS concept in colorectal surgery. This article briefly describes the classification and clinical value of preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative ERAS protocols, and analyzes the specific application of the ERAS protocol in colorectal surgery, and points out that the ERAS protocol can promote the recovery of postoperative organ function in colorectal surgery. The advantages of reducing surgical stress and complications, shortening hospitalization time and reducing medical expenses, etc., in order to provide reference for the implementation of ERAS measures for clinicians, and provide theoretical basis for the perfection of ERAS.
