Clinical effect of autologous bone graft combined with Bio-OSS bone meal in bone defect after jaw cyst |

Abstract Objective To investigate the clinical effect of autologous bone graft combined with Bio-OSS bone meal in patients with bone defect after jaw cyst. Methods From March 2014 to December 2015, 60 patients with jaw cysts treated in the Department of Stomatology, the People′s Hospital Affiliated to Hubei Medical College were divided into control group (30 cases) and observation group (30 cases) by random number table. The control group was treated with Bio-OSS bone meal. The observation group was treated with autologous bone grafting on the basis of the control group. CT examination was performed at different time points before and after operation. The CT values and difference values in bone graft area were calculated, and the clinical efficacy and incision healing were compared. Results The healing rate in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The CT values of the observation group were higher than those of the control group at 3, 6 and 9 months after operation (P < 0.05). The difference values of the observation group werre lower than those of the control group at 3, 6 and 9 months after operation (P < 0.05). Conclusion Autologous bone graft combined with Bio-OSS bone meal is effective in the postoperative bone defect of jaw cysts, which is helpful for incision healing and improving the CT value and difference value. It is worthy to be popularized.
