| Sinicization and validation of clinical stress perception scale for nursing interns |

Abstract Objective To Chinesize the clinical stress perception scale (NSPCSS) of nursing interns and test its reliability and validity. Methods The English version of NSPCSS was translated, back-translated and cross-cultural debugging to form the Chinese version of NSPCSS. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 363 nursing interns in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from March to May 2023 to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of NSPCSS. Results The Chinese version of NSPCSS included six dimensions, including limited clinical ability, insufficient clinical environment, insufficient knowledge and skills, inefficient clinical teaching planning, improper teaching behavior, and nursing concerns. The overall Cronbach’s α coefficient, retest reliability, and broken half reliability of the scale were 0.945, 0.941, and 0.901, respectively. I-CVI was 0.833 - 1.000, S-CVI was 0.983; the Chinese version of the perceived stress scale was used as the criterion variable, and the criterion association validity coefficient was 0.632 (P＜ 0.05). Six common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 71.424%. Conclusion The Chinese version of NSPCSS has good reliability and validity, and can be used to evaluate the stress perception of nursing interns in China during clinical practice.
