| Clinical effect of Chinese medicine fumigation combined with acupuncture in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis#br# |

Abstract Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Chinese medicine fumigation combined with acupuncture in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis, which in order to provide reference for clinical application. Methods A total of 80 patients with peripheral facial paralysis treated in Bozhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2018 to October 2020 were selected as the study subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into study group and control group, 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupuncture, the study group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation on the basis of control group. After two weeks of treatment, clinical efficacy, H-B facial nerve function score, facial disability Index (FDI) scale score, and Sunnybrook (Toronto) facial nerve assessment system (SFGS) score were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results The clinical efficacy of the study group was better than that of the control group (P ＜ 0.05); after treatment, H-B facial nerve function score decreased in the two groups, and the study group was lower than that of he control group (P ＜ 0.05); after treatment, facial disability index physics function, facial disability index society function, and SFGS scores increased in the two groups, and the study group were higher than those of the control group (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Chinese medicine fumigation combined with acupuncture is effective in treating patients with peripheral facial paralysis, which can obviously improve the facial nerve function, and reduce the facial disability condition.
