Abstract  Objective To study the application effect of Ambroxol Hydrochloride in nasal endoscopy after chronic sinusitis with nasal polyp. Methods A total of 210 patients with chronic sinusitis complicated with nasal polyps in the Affiliated Huaian NO.1 People’s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2017 to January 2020 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 105 cases in each group. Both groups received endoscopic sinus surgery, the control group received conventional glucocorticoids after surgery, and the observation group was additionally given Ambroxol Hydrochloride, Both groups lasted for one month. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. Symptom scores and serum levels of procalcitonin (PCT), hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The recurrence of nasal polyp in two groups was recorded within one year. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of nasal obstruction, runny nose, and olfactory disorder in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of PCT, hs-CRP, and IL-6 in two groups were significantly decreased compared with before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). One year after treatment, the recurrence rate of nasal polyp in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Ambroxol Hydrochloride is effective in the treatment of chronic sinusitis complicated with nasal polyp, which can improve nasal congestion and other symptoms and reduce the risk of nasal polyp recurrence.
