Abstract  Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture at  zúsānlǐ point combined with Nalbuphine on patients with abdominal pain during mixed hemorrhoid surgery. Methods A total of 80 patients with mixed hemorrhoids admitted to Shijiazhuang Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2020 to January 2021 were selected, and they were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Nalbuphine intraoperatively, while the observation group was treated with electroacupuncture at zúsānlǐ point combined with Nalbuphine intraoperatively, electroacupuncture lasts 20 min. The incidence of abdominal pain was compared between two groups, and the pain degree of patients with abdominal pain was evaluated by visual analog scale (VAS). Systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), heart rate (HR),  blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), and electrogram (ECG) were compared between two groups before anesthesia, before surgery and immediately after surgery; the serum neurotransmitter levels (substance P [SP] and neurokinin 1[NK-1]) were compared between two groups before surgery, immediately after surgery, and 24 h after surgery; the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was recorded. Results The incidence of abdominal pain and VAS score in observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). SBP, DBP, and HR of two groups before surgery were higher than those before anesthesia, SBP, DBP, and HR at immediately after surgery were lower than those before surgery (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in SBP, DBP, HR, and SpO2 between two groups at different time points (P > 0.05). There was no abnormal change of ECG in both groups at different time points. The levels of SP and NK-1 at immediately after surgery and 24 h after surgery in both groups were higher than those before surgery (P < 0.05), and the levels of SP and NK-1 at 24 h after surgery were lower than those at immediately after surgery (P < 0.05). The levels of serum SP and NK-1 in observation group were lower than those in the control group at immediately after surgery and 24 h after surgery (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidences of adverse reactions between two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture at zúsānlǐ point combined with Nalbuphine for patients with mixed hemorrhoid surgery can reduce the degree of abdominal pain, regulate the levels of serum neurotransmitters levels, and has good safety.
