Abstract:In October 2017, a patient with edema of the foreskin visited the outpatient clinic of the 309th Hospital of Chinese PLA. Before the onset of the disease, the patient was treated with ceftriaxone sodium intravenous infusion for acute upper respiratory tract infection, edema of the foreskin was found and gradually aggravated after 5 days of continuous medication. Combined with medical history, clinical manifestation, laboratory examination and differential diagnosis, the patient was diagnosed as prepuce edema induced by adverse drug reaction of ceftriaxone sodium, and the treatment measures such as cessation of ceftriaxone sodium, outpatient observation, follow-up were given. The symptoms of edema of the foreskin were gradually reduced after 2 days of withdrawal, and the symptoms disappeared completely after 3 days of withdrawal, and the symptoms were not reappeared for 28 days. Through reviewing and summarizing of cases, ceftriaxone sodium is widely used in respiratory tract infection, septicemia, abdominal infection, pyelonephritis, pelvic inflammatory diseases, bone and joint infections, skin and soft tissue infections, central nervous system infection in patients with clinical treatment, and have exact effect, but its adverse reactions have been reported, even in severe cases, can not be ignored. In order to ensure the safety of drug use, when using ceftriaxone sodium, we should strictly grasp indications and contraindications, do well in monitoring adverse reactions and timely and effective treatment.
