Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Xiaochaihu Granules in the treatment of posterior circulation ischemic vertigo with syndrome of inhibited flow of meridian qi. Methods A total of 72 posterior circulation ischemic vertigo patients with syndrome of inhibited flow of meridian qi admitted to Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from April 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research subjects. According to random number table method, they were divided into observation group and control group, with 36 cases in each group. Both groups were given conventional treatment, on basis of which, observation group was treated with modified Xiaochaihu Granules, the total course of treatment was two weeks. The differences of clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score, vertigo degree score and serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) of the two groups were observed. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference of TCM syndrome score and vertigo degree score between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome score and vertigo degree score in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, which in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in SOD level between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05). After treatment, the SOD levels in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the SOD level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Modified Xiaochaihu Granules have a definite curative effect in the treatment of posterior circulation ischemic vertigo with syndrome of inhibited flow of meridian qi, which can obviously improve the TCM symptoms of patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo, alleviate the recurrence of vertigo, and raise the serum SOD, enhance the body’s antioxidant capacity and protect brain tissue.
