Abstract:“Ten methods of phase and qi” also known as the ten methods of wangqi, comes from Wang Hong’s Wangzhen Zunjing. This method by examining the qi, color, shape and state of each part of the body, and combined with the symptoms, four seasons, orientation, constitution, pulse manifestation, and so on to identify the disease outside and inside, yin-yang, excess-deficiency, improvement and deterioration, straight and reverse. As an important content of inspection, “ten methods of phase and qi” plays a guiding role in the application of clinical color diagnosis. In this paper, the origin and connotation of “ten methods of phase and qi” and the connection and practical application of this method with facial diagnosis, hand diagnosis, tongue diagnosis and other specific color diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine are analyzed and summarized in order to provide new ideas for clinical diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine.
