Professor Jin Shi’s experience in treating arthralgia syndrome with rattan drugs

Abstract:Impediment is due to wind, cold, dampness, heat and other evil qi blocking channel-collateral, resulting in limb bones, joints, muscles and other areas of pain, heavy, sour, numbness, or joint flexion and extension adverse, stiffness, swelling, deformation, and so on as the main disease. The disease is lingering and difficult to heal, long-term oral Western medicine treatment is easy to lead to a variety of adverse reactions, is a clinical syndrome of knotty. Professor Jin Shi believes that impediment can be divided into wind, cold, dampness, and heat pathogen partial victory. On the basis of treatment based on syndrome differentiation, impediment disease can be treated by different nature, flavour, channel tropism and function characteristics of rattan drugs. Kadsura pepper stem and common clubmoss herb can be used to treat migratory impediment, suberect spatholobus stem and piper wallichii can be used to treat painful impediment, orientvine vine and dutchmanspipe vine can be used to treat fixed arthralgia, honeysuckle stem, Chinese starjasmine stem, and Tripterygium wilfordii can be used to treat heat impediment, and the clinical effect is significant. In this paper, professor Jin Shi’s experience is summarized and discussed, and a medical case is attached for evidence, so as to enrich the clinical diagnosis and treatment ideas of impediment.
