Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of targeted nursing in reducing the infection rate of patients with esophageal cancer by long-term nasal feeding. Methods A total of 60 patients diagnosed with esophageal cancer in Shanghai Chest Hospital from April 2019 to January 2021 who had difficulty in eating and needed long-term enteral nutrition (> one month) by placing nasogastric tube were selected, the patients were randomly divided into control group and experimental group with 30 cases in each group. The experimental group received targeted nursing measures of nasal feeding, the intervention group received routine nursing of nasal feeding. The incidence of infection and the prevalence of special strains were compared between the two groups. Results The infection rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The infection rate of special strains in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with traditional nursing measures, targeted nursing measures can effectively reduce the infection rate of esophageal cancer patients with long-term nasal feeding, and can effectively reduce the infection rate of special bacteria.
