Abstract:Objective To explore the quality differences of different grades of Paeonia radix alba in Bozhou. Methods The physical and chemical indexes of Paeonia radix alba in Bozhou were analyzed according to part one and part four of the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China (2020 edition); the thin layer chromatography method was used to qualitatively identify the Paeonia radix alba in Bozhou; and the content of paeoniflorin was determined by high performance liquid chromatography method. Waters XBridge C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used as the column, acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid solution (14:86) was used as the mobile phase, flow rate was 1.0 ml/min, the detection wavelength was 230 nm, column temperature was 30℃. Results The determination indexes of all samples (moisture, total ash, water-soluble extract, sulfur dioxide residue) were all meet the requirements. All samples showed the same color spots in the same position as the reference. The content of paeoniflorin in different grades of Paeonia radix alba in Bozhou were different, and the content of the second grade was the highest. There was little difference in paeoniflorin content among different grades of Paeonia radix alba in Bozhou. Conclusion In the market, the specification grades of medicinal materials and medicinal pieces of Paeonia radix alba in Bozhou based on the central diameter and piece diameter cannot reflect the intrinsic quality, objectively.
