Discussion on pathogenesis and treatment of follicular dysplasia syndrome based on “collateral disease theory”

Abstract：Follicular dysplasia syndrome belongs to the categories of “menstruation disease” “ amenorrhea” and “infertility” in traditional Chinese medicine. The main cause and pathogenesis of traditional Chinese medicine is kidney deficiency, liver stagnation and phlegm stasis block, according to “collateral disease theory”, its position is in the uterine and collateral, the basic pathogenesis is collateral deficiency and collateral stasis. The basic principle of treatment is to tonify the kidney and dredge the collaterals, mainly from three aspects: tonifying the kidney and filling the essence to nourish the cellular collaterals, regulating the liver qi to make the accumulation and diarrhea have a certain degree, resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis to make chong and ren reach. Three methods can choose one or more methods in different dialectics or different stages, so that the follicles can develop and discharge normally. In this paper, we will start from the pathogenesis, treatment principles and prescriptions, and elaborate the academic thought of “collateral disease theory” in the treatment of follicular dysplasia syndrome.
