Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of empowering health education model on knee replacement patients’ compliance with rehabilitation training and knee joint function. Methods A total of 86 patients undergoing knee replacement surgery admitted to Zibo Municipal Hospital, Shandong Province from January to December 2019 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into treatment group and control group, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was given routine care during the perioperative period of knee replacement, and the treatment group was given health education on the basis of control group. Follow-up to 12 weeks after operation, the compliance of the two groups with rehabilitation training was observed, and the hospital for special surgery knee score (HSS) was used to evaluate the knee joint function of the two groups. Results At the time of 12 weeks, after the surgery the treatment group’s compliance rate of rehabilitation exercise was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05); the HSS scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those of this group before the operation (P < 0.05); the joint pain, function, muscle strength, joint stability score and total HSS score of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The empowering health education model is helpful to improve the compliance of patients with knee replacement to rehabilitation training and further improve knee joint function, which is of great significance for improving the prognosis.
