Professor Zhang Yu’s experience in treating chronic renal failure with modified Dabuyuan Decoction

Abstract：Chronic kidney failure is the final outcome of the chronic kidney disease. At present, Western medicine mainly provides symptomatic and supportive treatment with limited methods, and Chinese medicine treatment shows certain advantages. Professor Zhang Yu has been in medicine for more than 30 years and has rich clinical experience. He thinks that the main pathogenesis of chronic renal failure is deficiency of the origin and excess of the standard. Deficiency of the origin is mainly due to deficiency of the spleen and kidney, and excess of the standard is mainly due to dampness, turbidity, toxin, and evil. The main clinical prescription is modified Dabuyuan Decoction, at the same time, according to the individual patient, dialectical treatment, add and subtract with the syndrome. This article describes the experience and typical cases of Professor Zhang Yu’s treatment of chronic renal failure with modified Dabuyuan Decoction, which has a good effect on the early prevention and treatment of chronic renal failure and delaying the progression of disease.
