Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of 4C model based continuous nursing on self-management efficacy and quality of life of patients after radical resection of esophageal cancer. Methods A total of 90 patients after radical resection of esophageal cancer admitted to the Affiliated Huai’an NO.1 Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2018 to June 2019 were selected. According to the random number table method, 45 cases were divided into the experimental group and 45 cases in the control group, and 42 cases and 38 cases were finally included. The control group was given conventional continuing care, and the experimental group was combined with continuing care intervention based on 4C model. The self-management efficacy, quality of life and complications were compared between the two groups after six months follow-up. Results After six months of follow-up, the self-efficacy scores of both groups were higher than those at discharge (P < 0.05). The scores of positive attitude, self-decompression, self-decision-making and self-efficacy in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the quality of life scores in both groups were higher than those in the same group (P < 0.05); the scores of physical function, emotional function, cognitive function, social function and overall quality of life in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the complication rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Continuing nursing intervention based on 4C mode is helpful to improve self-management efficacy of postoperative patients with esophageal cancer, improve the quality of life of patients and reduce the incidence of complications.
