Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of health education based on the concept of health quotient on the health behavior and blood sugar control level of patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 106 patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in the Sixth People’s Hospital of Nantong from January 2017 to December 2018 were selected. According to the treatment time, they were divided into the treatment group (January to December 2018) with 54 cases and the control group (January to December 2017) with 52 cases. Excluding the falling cases, the treatment group completed 52 cases and the control group completed 48 cases. The control group was given regular health education, while the treatment group was given health education guided by the concept of health quotient. Follow-up for six months, the health behavior ability, blood sugar control level, health education satisfaction of the two groups were compared. Results Follow-up for six months, the total scores of diet management, exercise, blood glucose monitoring, foot care scores, and health behavior ability of the two groups were higher than those of the same group before education, while the experimental group was higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Follow-up for six months, the levels of fasting blood glucose, 2 h postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin in the two groups were lower than before education, while the experimental group was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The health education satisfaction of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Health education based on the concept of health quotient helps to promote the development of healthy behavior ability of patients with type 2 diabetes, improve blood sugar control level, and enhance patient satisfaction with health education.
