Effect of Yinqi Guiyuan Moxibustion combined with air wave pressure in treating elderly patients with venous thromboembolism and its influence on coagulation factors

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of Yinqi Guiyuan Moxibustion combined with air wave pressure in treating elderly patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE). Methods One hundred elderly patients with VTE hospitalized in Department of Geriatrics of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2018 to March 2020 were selected and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. Control group was given air wave pressure treatment and conventional treatment, while observation group was given Yinqi Guiyuan Moxibustion treatment on the basis of control group for 14 days. The incidence of deep venous thrombosis, femoral venous blood flow velocity, plasma D-dimer, fibrinogen, prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and adverse symptoms were compared between two groups. Results After treatment, the incidence of deep venous thrombosis in observation group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the blood flow velocity of deep femoral vein in two groups was faster than that before treatment, and observation group was faster than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of D-dimer and fibrinogen in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, PT, APTT and TT of two groups were longer than those before treatment, and observation group was longer than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the positive symptoms of deep venous thrombosis between two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion The effect of Yinqi Guiyuan Moxibustion combined with air wave pressure in treating elderly patients with VTE is significant, which can improve the venous blood flow velocity and blood stasis state, and significantly reduce the incidence of limb deep venous thrombosis in elderly medical inpatients.
